Mini Interview |
|
| My first homebrew... | First homebrew was an all extract nut brown ale that came with the beer kit I got for Christmas. Was OK, but I've brewed better since then. |
| Homebrewing Story... | I attempted all grain for my second batch. I'm told it was a brave thing to do, but I am formally trained in culinary arts and thought that all that knowledge would lend to me taking on advanced techniques a little sooner than the regular Joe. I was wrong. |
| 3 favorite beers | Bluepoint Hoptical Illusion (Long Island, NY) Ommegang Three Philosophers (Cooperstown, NY) Stone Arrogant Bastard (California) |
| Why I homebrew... | It's fun, it's social (I brew with my brother and my friends), it's competitive (my brother and I have always had a rivalry), it's cheaper than buying it in the store these days, oh....and I drink a lot! |
| Brewing Accomplishments | My fourth batch was a monsterous brew (and the latest...I am a beginner). It's a 5 gallon Russian Imperial Stout with 21.75 pounds of grain. The guy at my shop thought I was crazy to take it on. Said he'd been brewing for 10 years and even he would be leary about doing it. It's now bottled and I can't wait to try it. It looks and smells great and I tasted the fermented wort before bottling and I think it's going to be really good (and strong!). |
