| My first homebrew... | My first time brewing solo was about six years ago with a mail order extract kit. My apartment was tiny and I was using an outdoor burner on my tiny little balcony. Between the roar of the flame and the burning smell of a spillover I met all my neighbors. But the beer was good and I was hooked. |
| Homebrewing Story... | About 15 years ago my roomate brewed a different batch nearly every weekend. We had 3 fridges and only 1 cupboard that wasn't filled with beer. We would throw parties and sample at least once a month. He loved to discuss it with everyone and anyone. One party I found he had 2 foreign guys cornered, in the kitchen, as he explained the various brews he kept opening to sample. He was a big guy and drunk and the 2 guys were terrified as he hovered over them explaining the differences and making them drink beer after beer. I thought it was funny but never really understood the desire to talk about it until I started brewing my own beers. I can still see the look on the faces of those guys. I just hope I don't do that to others when my beer is flowing. |
