Mini Interview |
|
| My first homebrew... | Mr. Beer - High Country Canadian Draft w/Booster. Everything was rushed. One week in fermenter then bottled. Beer was fizzy, light and still good enough to wet my interest in brewing. |
| Homebrewing Story... | When it was time to refrigerate my first batch of beer it was already gone. |
| 3 favorite beers | Double Diamond Sam Adams Octoberfest My American Bock |
| Why I homebrew... | For a number of years I have thought it would be fun to make my own brew. My wife bought me a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas and that got me kick-started. |
| Brewing Accomplishments | 1st Batch: High Country Canadian Draft - did not make it to three weeks of lagering - gone. Better than I thought my first batch would be. 2nd Batch: Cowboy Honey Wheat w/2 cups of honey - two weeks in the bottle and waiting 3rd Batch: Mayfield's Message in the fermentor Now using specialty grains and starting to play with my own recipes Just put an Irish Red Ale in the fermenter for batch #13. 12-1-2008 I have batch #14 and #15 in the fermenter with #13 going into bottles today. Also looking at brewing with herbs other than hops. 5/5/2010 31 Batches from 2-5 gal each. Made my own brew system for the kitchen and I am now finishing a horizontal 10 brew system with two march pumps and three sanky kegs. 10 Gal system is up and running. 6/26/2010 I did my first Triple Decoction Mash. What a lot of work but I had fun. |
