| My first homebrew... | I went to the local HB shop and went in on a starter kit with a buddy, it included a glass carboy, bottling bucket, raking cane, the usual stuff and we also picked up a couple extract kits. We went back to our apartment and followed the directions from the New Complete Joy of Home Brewing, I think we made an Irish Red ale. It was good, as far as I can recall. At least it was good enough to keep brewing. We made maybe another half-dozen batches or so before the school year ended. We were only 19 at the time, so it was nice to have some homebrew while our roommates ran off to the bar. |
