Mini Interview |

| My first homebrew... | My first homebrew was a bit of a disaster and I am still not sure whether this is down to inexperience or faulty equipment. Brewing from a kit I had finished primary and racked to my Keg. After a day or 2 in the keg, I noticed that there had been some leaking from the tap. In a slight panic I started to tighten the tap which caused the leaking to become worse, eventually becoming a spray. I managed to get the keg outside and rushed to my local homebrew shop to buy a replacement. Fortunately the beer still tasted good :) After buying a new tap for the keg, I tried again with exactly the same results. This time I had bottles available to instantly transfer to. In anger I threw away the 'faulty' keg but in hindsite this was a big mistake. Was the problem that the tap wasn't on tight enough?? Probably yes! Should I have kept to use as a bottling bucket? Most definately. Ah well, I am a little more experienced and now know what I should do :D |
| Homebrewing Story... | As above. Since I am currently brewing from store bought kits, there hasn't really been anything of note! I have however learned the advantages of using a blow-off tube since I have made a couple of stouts that like to get fairly active.... Just need to buy myself an airlock I can cut up and some tubing and I am ready to go :) |
