Mini Interview |
|
| My first homebrew... | 1) "Ash Tray" porter, an extract brew so-named for taste resulting from boiled specialty grains (oops, should have read instructions more closely) -- was dumped after first pint; 2) "Swamp Thing" scotch ale, an extract brew named for hop pellet residue, very tasty & inspirational |
| Homebrewing Story... | March 2004, my brewing compadre acquired a 50gal+ stainless water tank. We made a 50gal. pilsner for his summer party later that year. Unfortunately the water district spiked the water with chloramine shortly before we brewed. Resulting pilsner had a strong, clear Band-Aid aroma. Very embarassing for (usually) competent brewers. Party goers were not impressed. Luckily other beers from winter brewing season were available, salvaged our reputations. Pilsner made excellent slug bait. |
| 3 favorite beers | Pilsner Urquell, IPAs (so many good ones), Theakston's Best Bitter |
| Why I homebrew... | To create fresh & distinctive beers; to provide medium for hop consumption |
| Brewing Accomplishments | never entered a contest |
