Description
This was my attempt to clone Sam Adam's Black Lager, one of my favorites. I think cutting back slightly on the hops and the roasted malt and using a real lager yeast would make a beer closer to Sam's, but this is better.

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Heavy roasted flavor up front followed by creamy chocolate. Finishes with pronounced, but not overwhelming hop flavor.

Procedure 30 minute protein rest at 120 probably isn't necessary. I would recommend mashing at the high end (155-158) to produce lots of tasty dextrin.
