Description
For my first brew, I referred to this site and found the County Lane Best Bitter and wanted to give it a shot, naturally my recipe had some modifications, and I wanted to give feedback regarding the brew. This beer was delicious, if you like this style, I recommend it highly. I had 4 friends over for a post-work happy hour and my entire supply is gone except 3-12 oz bottles. It boded well over the palates of 2 well seasoned beer connesueirs, a miller lite drinker and a guiness fanatic.

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes True to the original description, this simple recipe produced a fine beer. Malt and subtle caramel taste flood the palate and then finish with a fine bitterness.

Yeast White Labs British Ale WLP005 (75% app. attenuation)
Primary Fermentation Glass Carboy, 8 days
Secondary Fermentation Glass Carboy, 6 days
Other Fermentation Bottle Conditioned, 14 days
Procedure Steep Crystal Malt at 155 Degrees F for 30 minutes, Bring to Boil, add Amber Malt Extract and 1oz. Bittering hops (60 min) add .50oz Flavor hops at 15, and .50oz aroma hops at end (1 min). Add 1 gallon cold water (RO) to room temp carboy, slowly strain wort into carboy, add 2nd gallon cold water, add remaining wort. Ice bath carboy to under 80 degrees, pitch yeast starter*. * I pitched a yeast starter made 48 hours in advance.
