Description
Easy drinking and simple to make. My version seemed to be a little darker than predicted. WLP 007 seemed to floculate very well and formed a nice cake on the bottom of the primary. ( I saved it and used it in a subequent porter)

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Nice Carmel Flavor. Modest bitterness, modest hop flavor and aroma. Was very good with dinner. Flavor was strong enough to come through while eating barbeque but but still mild enough so it didn't become the "main dish"

Procedure Mashed 1lbs 6 row and 1 lbs Crystal Malt 60o for 60 minutes at 150-148F in 3qt water. Used 1 Gallon to sparge Refrigerated wort in two 1 gallon containers to finish brewing later Added water to bring Grain Wort to 3 Gallons Boiled Grain wort for 20 minutes to enhance hot break Added 7# of LME (Canadian Malting) Cooled using immersion chiller to 75 F; then added distilled water to bring volume up to 5 Gallons Pitched previously prepared 1 L starter. Decanted to about 2 cups and pitched Aerated by siphon splashing into bucket then 60 seconds of pure oxygen. + 2 hours another 60 seconds of pure Oxygen +12 hours, another 60 seconds of pure Oxygen After secondary fermentation, moved the beer into a corny and put 28 lbs of pressure on the beer and shook the corny every 20 mintues or so. Looks like the beer was carbonated to about 2.5 Volumes of Co2.
