Matt and I kegged up our brews and shared the 5 gal with one another. I used the carbonator and Matt and I shared the Moguloid Ale. It was a nice brew, roasty, 7% ABV and a hint of the caramel in the aftertaste from the boil down of the stout. The Saaz hop aroma didn't really stick around. To me it tasted close to Snow Cap, and Matt thought it was close to Winternacht. Will definitely enjoy that this winter.

Sipping on a glass of Matt's Stout. Yumm. It's not all the way carbed up yet, but it's close enough. That Rogue Shakespeare clone sure had lots of Cascades in it. The bitterness goes nicely with the stout, I think. Will enjoy that this winter too.

I brewed up a bastardized version of Denny's Son of Dead Fish ale. I got Spalt hops but they weren't the Spalt Select hops Denny uses. Plus, they were pellets and I know they clog up my system. So I strayed away and was going to use my Mt Hood hops. But on brew day, when I opened those up they were wet and moldy. I think I used one of those vegetable ziplock bags that breathe... Oops! So, I ended up going with Crystal hops -- like I said, bastardized. So I'm naming it Dead Bastard Ale. My hope was that there wasn't a whole lot of flavor hops and no aroma hops and mostly bitter hops to balance the maltiness, so it shouldn't matter too much. It's bubbling away in the garage at 60-62, so I'm hoping the finish is clean. I was shooting for lower gravity but my efficiency finally broke the 70 barrier and I hit 74% by Tastybrew calcs. So I ended up brewing the same gravity beer. Curious how that one turns out.

Cheers!
