Denny It will have to be next time I guess.... The dextrine was mixed with the other grains. It's in the works right now, just about to hit the fermenter, so I guess I will just ave to see how it turns out. It smells good at least! |

Matthew, Thanks for the advice! I'll go ahead and up the boil on the hops. The dextrine was suggested by my LHBS. I had been looking at adding brown sugar or molassas and he suggested the dextrine instead. The recipe is something I did work up my self by comparing a few different recipes and seeing what sounded good. Thanks again! |

Getting ready to brew my first all grain... I've decided to try a brown, should be interesting since I have never brewed this before. Here is the recipe I am working from... 7 lbs American 2 row 1 lbs Crystal 60l 1 lbs dextrine 0.5 lbs Chocolate 1 oz East Kent Goldings 45 min 1 oz East Kent Goldings 15 min Wyeast 1028 London Ale I also have a great stout that is about gone. I am currently fermenting what will be a milk stout and my own experimental IPAish ale. Both these are extract w/specialty grain. After my Brown I'm going to work over my stout into an all grain, and then a nice tasty wheat. I'm glad to have found this place! |
