Guess I'll add my first journal entry now. Brewed up 12 gallons of the famed RyePA. This was my second batch of this tasty treat. The differences on this batch were a 75 min. mash since I had just under 40 lbs. of grain. Hit my mash temp head on. Got about a 78% effeciency. Also did a 90 min. boil. All went well. Hit 1.073 for my OG. Split this batch into two 6 gal. halves. One batch was pitched with the CL-50, propagated from a slant, and the other half from a starter of the Rogue Pacman. Wocca wocca wocca..
These went into my chest freezer at 60 deg. and have been whistling away ever since I got them home.. Music to the ears. |
