Strawberry hef= winnar.


4 pounds malted wheat, mashed, 4 pounds liquid wheat extract, .5lb munich, 1 oz of Hallertau, 7lbs of strawberries and WY1007. Quick, easy, and tasty as all get out.

Alright, got a holiday amber going right now, the recipe is from my LHBS owner.

5lbs 2 row
4lbs light LME
1lb crystal 40
1/2lb crystal 60
1/2lb malted wheat
1/4lb chocolate malt
1oz northern brewer at 30 for bittering
german ale yeast.

Spices added at last 10 minutes, and in secondary to taste-

cinnamon sticks
nutmeg
vanilla bean

We'll see how it goes!

Well, what the heck, it's something to do! Next time I make it I'll do a single addition, and compare notes.

DConn- ya, basically Thought I'd try something. I get it in one oz packages, and I can't save it if I don't use it all. I read somewhere (I think, maybe I'm making things up again) that DFH spreads its hop additions out like this, and gets a mellow, smooth bitterness from it. Plus, my IPA has a single centennial addition at 60, and I didn't want this to be as bitter. And it aint!

Oh man, latest pale ale=winner.

recipe- partial mash, 5 gallons.

4lbs british pale 2 row
6lbs Alexanders pale LME
1/2 crystal 60
1/2 caramunich
1oz centennial spread over 3 additions from 60-45 minutes
1oz cascade at 10
1oz cascade at 5
1oz cascade at flame out
1oz cascade dry hop.
