Damn! Last night for supper we had a few friends over and I decided to let folks try my best mead - the classic that brewed for about 18 months and has been kegged now about a year. So I moved my serving hose over and where that was the last drink served, there it stayed. Just went down now and noticed a puddle under the keg ... AAAAAAAA! Fortunately it must have been an incredibly slow leak, and judging by the weight of the keg I probably only lost 2-3 litres at most. But I've decided I'm not playing Mr Nice Guy any more and switching my serving hose from keg to keg. Every single keg disaster I've had has been the aftermath of the ol' switcheroo. If someone doesn't like what's coming out of the hose they can go buy beer. This strengthens my resolve to get my cold box set up as well, since part of the problem lies therein (that my hoses are not in any kind of permanent configuration). cheers, -Alan |

Speaking of Big Brew, folks may be interested in seeing some pics from our club's big brew. Last spring our fledgling club got together for the AHA Big Brew and it was such a success that we decided to have another one in the Fall. This weekend was our biggest one yet with 400 litres of wort being produced - that's 20 carboys! We call our events "Big Strange Brew" because Strangebrew Drew sponsors them. Anyone who attends gets a free copy of his software. Click here for photos of our BSB this weekend (and of previous events as well). cheers, -Alan |
