'Just got back from our club competition. Each year we have a members-only competition where every member has to submit one beer that they brewed. Josh and I always brew together, so we each entered one beer that we both brewed. The judging is according to what beer best fits the style (not which tastes best because that's too subjective and usually bigger beers win out). You also can't judge your own beer. Anyways, out of the 13 beers entered. Josh and I tied for 1st place which we thought was really funny. In the end, our russian imperial oatmeal stout took 1st place (which josh entered) and our vienna lager took 2nd place (which I entered).
Some other good ones (3rd place) was the belgian dubble by bruce stott, the aha 2003 homebrewer of the year . A nice barley wine from john (which just needs more aging). A tasty Alt from Frank who is usually one of the top rated brewers in new england. And a lot of other good beers. |
