I did. Made a batch of Cascade Ale today. Should be ready in a few weeks. Brewing with ingredients that you've actually grown adds a little something to the brew, I think.

I've been meaning to harvest mine. There's just so much going on. But an IPA will be up soon.
BTW: John V, I know I promised to split this 10G of hop harvest IPA with you. Are you still interested? No big deal either way. I assume we'd have to brew on a sunday.

Wish I could, but south Florida is not a good growing region. I would have to start mine in October and havest in March, but no one sells the rhisomes in the fall.

Brewed 10 gallons today in two separate batches. I brewed an IPA using homegrown Nugget and homegrown Cascade hops. I also brewed an all Cascade (homegrown hops) pale ale. I love the smell of airlocks in the morning!

Mine are looking so tasty out there.. but no- still haven't had a few minutes to harvest them. And when I do- It's pouring outside.
I'm not sure I'll have time to make my IPA anyways

Bryan,
What kinds do you have growing?
I have managed to get some Fuggles and Kent Golding seeds to sprout.
It will probably take them years to do anything from seed..

Cascade is the big one. That's taken over my garden.
Also Mt Hood and Willamette.
I throw them all into the same bag and use them like that. I did an amber last year and the hop flavor and aroma were awesome.

Ohh i bet..
Nothing like the smell of fresh hops.
When i lived up home in Ohio.
I used to be at the Grape and Granary back in the day.
They used to order 50LB sacks of EKG.
I always knew in advance when they were coming in just so i could be there to smell them...

Those Cascades are pretty agressive. Mine got tore up by those awesome Japanese Beetles this year, but I've got enough for a BIG aroma addition in an IPA or APA.
