This has probably been address before but thought I would add my 2 cents just in case. I was having troubles removing commercial labels from returnable bottles. What I did that worked for me was to remove as much of the label by hand and then coat the label with coconut oil (solid- not spray) and let it set for a day. Then rinse with hot water and wipe clean. Sanitize like you normally do before use.

Soaking in a solution of washing soda works well. Soak for 24 hours in a bucket

My two cents... OxiClean. After a day of soaking, most labels fall right off.
