Question are 3... I was carrying out to 'dumpster' a beverage dispenser (soda) at 'work' and noticed a pump...labelled 'Rotoflow'..
Can this thing be used in place of a 'March' pump?
How or could I use this in an allgrain one/two etc tier brewing system?
The pump is brass and has what appears to be a 'filter' port on the bottom, (installer of new one said so) and is atttached to a pretty good sized electric motor... I imagine it is not for high temp pumping but don't know, duh! Should have asked more questions!
Anyone use similar pump/s - how/where?
Thought I'd ask before it gets trashed tomorrow...
PS; there is a small 'carbonation' tank attached..

I'd take the dispenser, even if the pump isn't usable with boiling liquids. Might be other stuff you can use.

I would keep this whole unit. I'll bet You could dispense your flat beer from it using the carbonating unit to fizz it up on the fly. Or maybe not.. But I bet there's tons of useful stuff on it.. B

BTW.. Look for me on hoarders one day. lol

Find the model on it and google. Seems to be a lot of info out there on these pumps. The ones I saw MIGHT be okay for high temp pumping. (giggidy)

Fellers; & u 2 BB! (LMAO)
Appears at moment the pump will move easily 90GPH at temps to 158*F max!
Pump is attached to a 1/3HP motor...
I have an e-question into a pump manuf asking about actual temps the pump can safely move; as some data I found says high temp, SS vanes/gears etc..
Will see what manuf has to say.

Kisses to you too, JWJB

One of the things that makes a March pump so nice is that it's magnetically coupled. This keep any bearing grease away from the product.

The pump manuf sez:
"The pumps are suitable for fluids up to 190 F. They are not suitable for use with fluids containing suspended solids."

You could always buy a new centrifugal head to attach to the motor. Contact a good pump manufacturer, like Thomsen for information.

I got an awesome pump for my immersion chiller today! It's basically a submersible pump that goes in an ice chest full of ice water. It's normally used as a way to cool down healing wounds after surgery, but this one happened to start leaking water from one of the hoses while it was on a patient...they're so cheap they just throw them away and buy new ones (this is probably why healthcare is so expensive btw), so i snapped that shit up quick!
