I recently got a chest freezer and a temp control to use as a fermentation tank. It works great - always right at 68 degrees. My problem is that there's a lot of humidity in there and therefore some mold. Everything that's in there is sealed, so it's not contaminating my beer, but it's something I would rather get rid of. A box of Arm & Hammer didn't solve it.
Any thoughts on fixing this outside of a de-humidifier?
Thanks..

I use a product called DampRid. I works great, I picked it up at Lowes. I use to get condensation on the sides and it would pool in the bottom but now it stays dry.

Any kind of silica package on the market would soak up that moisture and let it pool up in the pan you would place it in inside the freezer. Also, check the seal around the door. There may be a corner that isn't sealing properly letting outside air in which condensates quickly once in there.

I use one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Eva-dry-EDV-E-500-Renewable-Wireless-Dehumidifer/dp/B000H0XFD2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1283205634&sr=8-1
Same idea as damprid, but it's reusable. I'd say I recharge mine every 6 to 8 weeks.
This works great for me.

Got an Eva-dry E-500 on Wed and put it in the freezer then. It didn't soak up the droplets on the walls, but that might have been asking too much. Just wiped the walls clean with a towel and will see if they stay moisture free. Will keep everyone posted.
Thanks for the suggestions.

So... did the EVD work to keep the moisture gone?
