I just moved up to the Vacaville/Fairfield CA area and don't have a lot of room to brew anymore (Not that I ever really had A LOT of room) I also just started with All Grain. I was thinking that finding a homebrew club might be a good way for me to get access to more space and equipment without driving the wife and landlords nuts with tukey friers and fridges on the lawn etc. Does anyone know of any clubs in that area that might want a new member? or does anyone else in the area want to think about starting one?

Not a bad idea morticaixavier, also a great way to get to know some local brewers and gain knowledge from them. They will know the best places to buy supplies in the area and probably have water reports from around the area too.

Yeah, here's to more knowledge. I know there are some clubs in the SF bay area and the Sacremento area but it would be great if I didn't have to drive for an hour to get to them.

I'm in the same boat. I would have to drive an hour to be involved in the brew club for the Anchorage area. But they do get 10% off at the LHBS so I'm considering a membership anyway.

And besides an hours drive in Alaska is nothing right? I grew up in Vermont and you have to drive an hour to get anywhere except the corner store. Ahh for faster than light travel.

We are used to driving distances up here but an hour is still an hour. With the money it would cost me in gas, it wouldn't be worth it to me to make more than a couple meetings. But I do work in Anchorage so I'm there 4 days a week anyway, so when I need stuff I just stop in during the day and pick it up. I could recoup the $35 membership fee in savings and help the club by giving them that money.

If I had a club it wouldn't be listed there.

Hey BobG, how's it going?

Thanks for the advice BrewerBob. It looks like there are a couple in my neighborhood. I will check them out/

BB do you have an issue with the home brewers association? or just being a rugged individualist?

Oy. Morti, don't go there. Visit the "other forum" and click on the "Why Beer is better then Religion" thread if you really want to know
