with homegrown hops you have to estimate the ibus; you wouldn't know for sure unless you had it tested in a lab, which is expensive and not practical. I'd go by the general range, which you could find easily online. I love both types of hops you grew! I grew columbus and cascade at my girlfriend's house this year.

thanks MMMBREW. i read somewhere that fresh hops to dried hops should be used in a ratio of 5:1. i may estimate it that way and see where it gets me.

Yeah you're on the right track man. a lot of people say to not use homegrown hops for bittering purposes, but I say screw it. I want a hoppy ipa anway. I harvested 11 dry oz. of columbus so far, and the cascade isnt' quite ready yet.
On a side note, you had sierra nevada's "Wet hop" beers yet? They use all barley and hops grown on their estate. Pretty delicious and it just came out recently.

I think it would be best to let them sit a few days and dry out some before using them. Also you have 2 lbs of hops, why not make a small 1gal batch to test the AA%.
