Also, ive got a tripel in the fermenter, 77 percent two row, the rest white table sugar, trappist ale yeast (wyeast) and saaz at 32ish IBUS. but it turns out i also added a half pound of munich. does this change what style it is? what should i expect? and whatever it is smells amazing! like bananas and brown sugar.

I am doing a 10g Rye PA this weekend. I have 10g of an Imperial Amber that is dry-hopping as we speak. It's sitting on 4 oz of Nugget hops. Think I am going to do an Kolsch next with Summit hops.

Brewkid: Munich is totally fine for a trippel, and you didnt' go overboard either. I know of a few belgian breweries that use munich, aromatic, or other color malts to boost malt impression in trippels. Sounds like you made a great beer! One of my favorites to brew. Mine is pils, carapils, and flaked wheat, and lots of corn/beet sugar. I love the simplicity! Let those esters shine!

i think i might put a small amount of wheat in too(: add a slight wheat flavours the esters will compliment. thanks man. Redskinfan, what are you thinking for a kolsch?

I like flaked or torrified for most beers. Nice rocky head! In small amounts you won't get much flavor, but they'll certainly add to mouthfeel and head!

Finally got my keggle from the brewstore that cut and welded... brewing up my imperial ipa tomorrow (friday) - comes in red in color, 108 ibu, and about 9.2%abv if i hit all my numbers. a great big hop bomb and delicious as hell. changing things a bit with it and adding a first wort hop as well as a slightly different flavor and aroma addition. i'm using chinook, cent, simcoe, and probably some fuggles i have sitting around.
have a CDA to make in a week or so - third in this cycle. i have a peated scottish export and barleywine in carboys, my honey basil ale in the primary with the yeast cake going to the iipa tomorrow and the hba into the secondary.
kegging the scottish tomorrow as well.
what a great hobby! i have a porter, esb, iipa, honey basil on tap and an empty keg for the scottish... party at my house!

I have a milk stout just finishing up in the primary getting ready to rack to secondary tonight on 2 vanilla beans.
In the next week or so I plan on brewing another batch of my "Paupers Pale Ale" which came out fantastic the last time around. Used Cascades and Simcoe for bittering and flavor, Simcoe for aroma and then Amarillo for a dry hop... very similar to Simcoe but my LHBS was out of Simcoe's and suggested the Amarillo as a substitute... worked out fantastic.

I'm brewing my IIPA this weekend. I've convinced a friend to come out and brew with me. He wants me to become his personal brewer, that's not going to happen, but at least I get a hand this weekend and maybe he'll decide to brew on his own.

Marco, it's just a standard stout, nothing fancy. 10 lb Maris Otter, 1 lb Crystal 60, 1/2 lb Roasted Barley, 1/2 lb Carafa III Special, 1.25 oz First Gold for 60 minutes. Wyeast 1098.
