I was in CW in Nov 2008 with a work group and we all went to dinner at one of the themed restaurants. The "Innkeeper's wife" character spoke to us and answered a lot of our questions about Colonial life. Someone asked about the traditional alcoholic beverages and I had to sit there quietly while she described how "it's BEER unless you add hops, that's what makes it ALE". Normally my head would have exploded but I had about 7 Pimm's Cups in my by then so I let it pass. FYI, check out Pimm's Cups if you ever get a chance.

Went to CW a few years ago. Good trip. I tried to find Ale Werks but that didn't quite happen. I forget if it was closed, or if it was a brewery and they weren't doing any tours/tastings.
There's a free beer tasting when you're in Busch gardens. Ya, Ya, I know- it's bud, it's evil and disgusting. Well, I was able to try some of their experimental products, and seasonals, and other stuff. It was worth it, at least, to find some faults in their beer and say so a little above-normal volume, "I get a grainy astringency from this beer." I also interrogated them on putting out a beer under a microbrewery disguise without mentioning they were completely owned by AB.
Around the university on Prince George St there was this cafe/deli type thing that had good beers. Really, the week or so I was down there it was hard to find anything worthwhile to drink.
The Wine and Cheese Shoppe at 1909 Pocahontas Trail (very near busch gardens) had the best beer I could find. I assume it'd be easier to find beer with all the smartphones and apps these days.
