Recently I got a Refractometer. My wort original gravity matches up perfectly to my hydrometer readings! And, of course the final gravity does not!!
I have searched for and found 3-4 calculators on line that "say" they do all the necessary corrections to make the Brix reading of the refractometer be correct (compared/converted to hydrometer).
But, I don't think they are correct as I get too much variation using them and comparing to my measured hydrometer and refractometer readings.
So, does someone have or know where to find a brix - corrected conversion, to final Gravity of/for my brew???

I've heard BeerSmith is good. I would assume the same about ProMash. Though I've always used a hydrometer for measuring FG.

i have an excell spread sheet at home somewhere that does the calcalations for you. I'll look for it and e-mail it to you if I still have it.
I really don't use it anymore and just throw the number in beer smith and it does it for me.

I always use ProMash and get good results. I think you can still get a free evaluation copy of it and the calculators would still work.

I did beersmith and a spreadsheet and found a consistent varience. I can deal with a consistent varience. (.003) in my case.
That way I can still use the refractometer early and often if I am trying to see if the fermentation is complete.

I like to take gravity checks with my hyrdo during fermentation. This gives me a chance to taste the sample after I get my reading.

OK...So after cking most of these suggestions above...there is still too much variation!!
I think I'll just record both Brix and Sp G and someday go back - if I ever find a formula where they jive!
