I brewed up 10 gallons of a Northern English Brown a couple of weeks ago. It is still sitting in primary. I'm thinking of racking 5 gallons of it to a 6.5 carboy and adding Brett and cherries. What do you think? I have a kreik that has been on cherries for 9 months so I'm about to bottle that and want another sour to age.

Go for it! That's why I love doing splits.

I'm pretty inexperienced but how do cherries taste in beer? I've heard of fruit in wheat beer and I'd love to try that sometime.

I think that sound terrible. You're going to have a nice brown ale and wait a year+ to have an infected beer. What a waste

I'm sorry but i love sour beers. I think it would be great. I say goo for it but it will take like a year.

OT,
That's good to know Paul. Might tuck one of my FReds into a grain bag...

Robert I just bottled a Belgian Sour that had been in the secondary for close to a year. It tasted good. Not like Rodenbach but it was good.

Last night I racked a kreik into a secondary to let it clear up before bottling in a couple weeks. I then racked a brown ale on top of the cherries and trub and added a couple of bottles of cherry juice on top. Gave a good stir and will sit back to see the results. I'm not sure I will give this one a year and may just go 6 months.
