Hi All,

My apologies for the forum downtime today... I was receiving numerous emails about the forums so I thought it best to disable posting until I could get an understanding of what was going on. So here's an update...

1) The PUI forum is gone. It was an experiment to begin with and did ok for awhile but one particular post put myself and a few others over the edge. My choice was simple -- I do not want to be the host of profanity and name calling against others. That's not why I choose to run Tastybrew. While I do regret removing a "hang out" for friends, I think there are many other places online that off-topic brewing conversation would be welcomed.

2) Now there's just this main forum with some ground rules, which can be summarized as: Keep it brewing related and be respectful of each other.

Again, sorry for the downtime. And thanks to those that contacted me and offered help.

I agree completely with Rob. I find this site invalueable in my brewing. The forum is my best source of quick information. I really hope that you keep it running. I can understand why you did what you did.

I completely understand your reasons, Rob. I'm glad the main forum is back up, but I sure will miss the PUI. I feel like my favorite bar just closed (wiping tears and blowing nose).

I totally agree...witnessing obscene rants is about as much fun as sitting at the bar between a couple of foulmouth drunks

or sitting next to guys in a sports bar, yelling at the game on TV and thinking that the more they yell the cooler they are.

Unfortunately things became completely out of control...I'm glad that you reeled your site back in Rob...maybe now some of the folks that left the forum due to the aforementioned will return...this is a great venue, one of the best on the net

Glad to see the site back up now. I've never gone into the PUI forum, so I have no clue what went down, but I can imagine the inevitable nonsense that spoiled it. This is a great site, thanks for not shutting it down, Rob.
