Well I haven't been on for quite a while now because my new work schedule has me sleeping whenever possible when im' not working but anyway. last week I brewed what was going to be a brown ale(I made the recipe to suit my unfortunate effinciancy average of 65%). well after making a new filter to drain my mash tun, crushing grain finer and using 5.2 to mash I hit 80%! I'm very happy about that but it turned my brown ale basically into a heavy porter I used WLP008 anyway to ferment with.

Well that was the update now for my question
Day 2 fermentation kicked off fine, day 3 krausen got insane and switched to blown off tube. day 4 nothing... I'm stable at 74 degrees but it seems to have just stopped? any ideas?

Maybe it is just done with the major part of the fermentation. You should just be patient, and wait a week or two and take a hydrometer reading.

Edit: At 74 degrees your yeast was probably working overtime.

Sounds done. Like Grant said be patient let it sit. You also might want to keep that temp down. I think 74f is a little high for that yeast. Don't work to much.

Matt - I agree with Grant and AZ - be patient and let it sit. Take a gravity reading in about a week and see where you're at.

...relax..have a homebrew...

I agree but I would add - get the temp down to 68 degrees, better safe than sorry
