Wondering how you guys set your Gas PSI into your Distributor.

Do you kick it up to 30 if you want each keg at 10?
Or do you set your tank at 30 and adjust your valves on your Manifold.

Tank at whatever and regulator at 10-12 PSI.... Same pressure for all kegs.... 1 to 20 kegs still 10-12 PSI.

Note, you can go to 15 PSI but you will need to adjust/balance the line lengths out...

My manifold valves are full on or closed if not attached to a keg.

Cool J,

I'm putting the Gas Line and Manifold together right now.
I wanted to make sure

Note:
By the way all of my line lengths are at 6 Foot....

I've found with my system with two 5' serving lines & two 4' gas lines 4 psi works great for serving. You will have to play around with your set up. How many taps are you going to be hooking up?

Cheers!

Shawn, I'm running 7 ft lines. The balance of my line lengths vs my preferred carb level set psi and after a good 2 weeks fully carbed but ready at 1 week. Time will improve that. In thinking about it, yeah the bubbles sem to get smaller with time.

Jeff's method of lowering to 4 psi works but I bet somewhere along the route he's recarbing from time to time. I don't think 4 is enough gas. The PSI level is also important to note the temps your serving at too. Look at the many carbonation charts for the figures.

My suggestion is balance the lines and your PSI setting. Then all you do is hook up and wait. You can shake to force more gas in faster. But if left untouched for 1-2 weeks it will be fully carbonated and have had time to clear. Or be like others gas it crash it and gas some more then consume....

Either way balance it out for the longer untouched regulator run.

I keep my beer at 38f I force carb. at 20 psi. after that I'm good. The only time things start pouring slow is when the keg is just about empty.

I got rid of my manifold valves. I'm at 7 gas taps right now and that's just too many valves. Besides, the corny connectors seal just fine. I wouldn't mind having another regulator someday.

It's nice to have the small off and on valves sometimes one keg might be full & others half or near empty you can kill the gas to the full ones which don't need much. Just label all of your lines well so you know whats going on, the valves are cheap. If you are feeling rich you can set up a regulator for each line. I would also look into the small check valves for each line so as to prevent one keg of blowing back gas into another keg again these are cheap.

Harbor Freight has cheap key tags that I'm trying to use to identify my kegs. A small chalk board to track the tag color to the keg. The tags are attached to the kegs via cheap carabeners from Harbor Freight.

carabiner : http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=45553 (note I paid $2)

key tags : http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=36962 (note I paid $1)

Although blue painters tape works well for marking kegs too...

The tags look like a nice way to go better then a sharpie pen on the side of the keg!

Jeff,

I agree.....
Thank you for the balancing ideas...
I will need to do some Balancing, I know I can base down the lines now and save some problems....
But, I want to go all 6 Foot to see where I am at.

But, I got that old Outlaw Arizona Style....

I happened to luck upon a co2 set not too long ago that had a 7 line distribution setup. The separation was determined by using different colored piece of electricans tape wrapped around each flex line. The appropriate color piece of tape would then be attached to each keg.

I use a four way dist. With 5 feet of hose at 12 psi. Works
great. I like the valves so I can turn the others of and shake the shit outta the one I'm carbing and
I know all the co2 is going into that keg.

I just have to reinforce my Tower.

But so far I like this Manifold

Yes... 3/16th for Beer Lines....

5/16 Gas....

My system seems to be doing great with the lines at all 6 Foot.
I'm at about 13 PSI as well.

Right now I'm just using picnic taps for my cornies. Once I start my bar , I want to custom build a kegerator that fits to it. Where's the best place to buy pieces and parts for the draft system?

There really is no best place.

It's one of those thing's you have to do some shopping on all of your pieces.

3/16" for beer and gas. I rather doubt that you can dispense beer faster than the CO2 can be replenished through 3/16" lines.

BB,

It will also depend on your GAS Manifold.

My Gas Manifold will only take 5/16 Lines.
3/16 won't fit it, So I had no choice.

Well then 5/16 it is.

It really doesn't matter, but I think some people feel a larger gas line is necessary and it isn't, IMO.

I look at it as, use what you've got

I agree, I don't think it really matters.
3/16 and 5/16 Lines are usually the same price

Shawn, We told you to standardize on the 3/16 line for beer and gas... But this needs to be decided upon when obtaining a regulator and or gas manifold.

It just makes it easier to buy bulk lengths or cheap long lengths and custom cut yourself.

But the main thing is, it dispenses your beer... and that's what's the most important thing at stake here...

You know that's right ,John

Our beer's are where it's at.....
The Gas Manifold I could get my hand's on here, I didn't have a choice in the matter.
But all in all, Like you said as long as it dispenses the tasty foamy stuff
