I know this might be a painful process, and It is nearly impossible to pick 5 and only 5, but I want to know your guys' palates. I was challenged today to name my top five beers, and it was interesting to try and come up with a list. You only get 5. make it interesting.
In no particular order:
1. St. Bernardus trippel
2. Dark Lord Imperial Stout
3. Gulden Draak
4. Avery Czar
5. Lost Abbey Judgement Day
Ok..... I'll cheat... one more
6. nati ice

I read it! Blasphemy!
Yeti is the wife's favorite. That is until we both tried Fidy. Yeti is still her tops, but Fidy is climbing.
I love Avery beers, but not sure any take a top 5 spot. Mephistopheles and Brabant are damn good beers though. Wish I couldve gotten my hands on some Black Tot or Sui Genesis though.

wow you and I might get along just fine.... I am a huge avery fan. I loved brabant also. I have seen black tot around town, but pretty hefty to pay 8.75 for a 12 oz. I loved brabant, and was lucky enough to buy sui generis at the brewery. (one of the last 20 sold apparently.) meph addict, which is mephistophles on coffee beans, was one of my favorate beers ever. had this at the boulder strong ale fest, which will be in may i think.
At a recent beer tasting at an awesome liquor store, I was able to try 3 awesome colorado stouts back to back to back: ten fiddy, ten fiddy on oak, yheti, yheti on oak, and then Odell's bourbon barrel stout. This was an awesome tasting. I might even pick odell's beer over the other two.

HAd to do a top 10 as 5 dont cut it.
Rochefort 10
Rodenbach Grand Cru
Girardin Gueze
Aventinus
Kulmbacher Eisbock
Salvator
Greene King Olde Suffolk
Uerige Doppel Schticke
Thomas Hardy
Traquair House
Westmalle Tripel would have been on the list had they not destroyed the character of their beer at the same time they changed labels. Don't know if they cleaned up the yeast or what.
