how many IBUS is that? you do mostly aromatic.. i figure the best way to get to know my american hops is to hop every ten minutes so i can get a good feel of all three aspects.

Wow.....!!!! The Highest one I had was real hoppy, used Amarillo pellet hops for d/hopping. But I had hops floating in my bottles, very, very small particulars that I just couldn't filter out, not really a big deal, because it tasted SO good, I didn't give a ______.! That's the only problem I've experience is filtering out that dry hops .....???? I love "Clear" beer. But I agree with you, love that hoppy taste.

You really need Whole Hops for Dry Hopping.
I use Plugs when I can for Dry Hopping, After all there Whole Hops Compressed.
Or you can buy a Hop Ball.
I have one and have used it a few times.

I'm on a single hop brewing kick lately, as in each beer I'm making, I'm only using one variety.
I'm doing this so I can isolate the effects on the palate and know what contributions they make to the brew. I think that long term this will help my recipe formulations more than reading someone else's description of the flavors/aromas etc.
Been an interesting little experiment.
All Chinook is brewing this weekend. The all Cascade was not bad. I'd do it again.

Bwwwhahahah I entered 70 Oz and 30 Oz for BB's recipe into beer smith as place holders until I convert the numbers.....Beer Smith calculated it as 2236.7 IBU's
BB Couple questions... Have you used C-40 in any amount as opposed to the C-60 (I have it bulk is all)?
Again same question... Vienna for munich (again I have it in bulk)?
Luckily I have a club meeting next weekend so I can get some grain if needed....

I find the numbers in Beer Smith to be calculated slightly different. Very interesting. The main thing was the correction for the FWH settings. BB's set for -50% in promash and BeerSmith has 10% for it's default.

" B Couple questions... Have you used C-40 in any amount as opposed to the C-60 (I have it bulk is all)?
Again same question... Vienna for munich (again I have it in bulk)?"
I've only used C-60, C20 and some C-120 once. Nothing in between, but I don't see why it wouldn't work, if you don't mind it being a little lighter. For that I say, who cares? I wouldn't recommend trying to add more C-40 to achieve a darker SRM. As for Vienna instead on Munich, that should work well, in fact that sounds good. It's a simple recipe. I've messed around with the ingredients a lot and while some attempts are better than others, it always produces a nice beer. Maybe it's just my love for Columbus hops.
If I was stranded on a desert island and could only have one variety of hops, Columbus would be it.
