I am not quite sure what the makeup of peanut butter powder is but I do know that nuts and legumes are made up of a high percentage of oil which can be detrimental to the brewing process. I would take a recipe like this with a "grain of salt" and look for some actual results before I considered it any more that just a novelty.
I have heard of people trying to use hazelnuts in the brewing process with some not so good results. I am skeptical...

Like I said, I don't know what PB powder is, but at this point I am skeptical.
Some flavors are best obtained through the use of liqueur flavorings, at least that's what think. With fruits, herbs and spices I believe it's best to go to the source , but with things like chocolate, nuts, cream, etc... their are literally hundreds of flavorings for distilling that do a great job.

I agree also, but I also remember when I was a newbie I thought any "flavor" was interesting. It takes some experience to realize that for the most part it's not as good as it sounds....

I tried a chocolate peanut butter porter at our homebrew meeting last month. The lady had tried regular peanut butter, but the oils killed the head and didn't work with the beer. She settled on the powdered stuff to get the peanut butter flavor. Her goal was to make a "reese's pieces" flavor, and it seemed to work. You will definitely get the peanutbutter flavor, if that is what you want. Personally, I would only drink one...

"when I was a newbie I thought any "flavor" was interesting"....to me, that's one of the signs of a new brewer. You're so infatuated with making beer that almost anything sounds like it would be good!

So the other day, after I was informed (wrongly) that beer and ice cream don't "go together" I started thinking about how to make an effective alescream recipe (I make ice cream too...) Obviously malted milk is a reasonable idea, so malt would predominate and then the challenge would be to find a nice mild citrusy, not too floral hop to infuse into the recipe. I realize this has nothing to do with peanut butter, but you know, flavors that don't make sense and stuff...

Beer and ice cream not a match? Whatever!
One of SWMBO and my favorite desserts is a float of a scoop of ice cream in a good stout or imperial porter. Mmmm, Ten Fiddy float...

I made ice cream with Obsidion Stout.
I reduced a pint by half and it really started smelling bitter and kind of gross, but when it was all done the ice cream tasted great, and you could tell what it was made with.
I have heard of people using a little bit of sweet wort to make ice cream with success, but I am not sure what the process was.

Related to the original post and newbies, when I started brewing beer my wife probably would have enjoyed some peanut butter porter, today she would probably spit it out and send me to the store for some Hazed & Infused, and to think about where I had gone wrong and come back with a well thought out apology.
On the other hand, she did take a growler of hazelnut porter from Eel River, but didn't finish it before it went flat, and it was light on a chocolate flavor.
