I think I'm going to brew an IPA. I've got two lagers ready to bottle, but I need IPA like I need water.

RRIS (Ridiculous Russian Imperial Stout). I'm thinking 15%-17% ABV and around 125 IBUs.
Should be an interesting and educational experiment. Hopefully even drinkable!

Just brewed my first all-grain batches that are taking up most of my carboy space (a Bell's Brown Ale clone and 2 IPAs). My next batch will probably be a Trappist-style Belgian ale.

+1060 to Shawns Yorkshire.
That has to be the best Bitter I have ever had. Commercial or homebrewed....
I'm going to do another Strong Ale tomorrow. Trying to stock up for the winter...

I'm just going to do the nearly nirvana...or the RyePA that everyone keeps boasting about. I'm broke, so this would be a good time to clone and save a little on the pocket book. Not trying too many new beers this or next month.

Do the Rye PA. It's simply amazing. Then again, you 'can't' handle hoppy beers, so never mind!

Been thinking IPA
Chinook/amarillo (pine trees and grapefruit)
or
Sorachi ace/amarillo (sounds ok lemon and grapefruit)
or
Columbus/simcoe/centennial/amarillo (can't go wrong with these but do it all the time)
or another belgian with 1388 or 550

here it is... my house IPA - want to move to all grain but wife (though she loves the homebrew) isn't ready for the equipment and time investment... so I make do.
Ruination Clone (pretty close)
Tea
.5 lb 10L crystal
.5 lb 20L crystal
1 lb Briess 2-row pale
hold for 30 min or so at 150 F
add:
9 lb Light DME, bring to boil
add:
3 oz Magnum for 39 AAU
60 min boil
2 oz Centennial
10 - 15 min
3 oz Centennial dry hopped in the secondary
irish moss...
used Wyeast east coast (LHBS was out of California ale) ale cultured up
Drinking copious amounts of my other house ale (wife's happy if I keep it kegged
): Honey Basil Ale while waiting for finish in about an hour.
Kicked the Dunkel keg and am kegging a porter that's been waiting patiently in the carboy for a while now.
Ain't beer nights great!!?
