Help a fellow brewer out- me!
I'm getting married and I need some help finding beer items for my wedding registry.
I've got:
-4 pin-lock Cornelius Kegs
But I need:
-CO2 tank
-Tubing / Beer Lines
-Disconnects
-Regulator
To keep things simple, we are registered at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond as well as Amazon.com.
I'm going crazy over here! I can't find any kits that offer something in between: just the regulator or a full system for $150.
I knew ball-lock kegs were popular, but I can't find ANY kits that offer pin lock disconnects. No big deal, right? I'll just buy the pin-lock disconnects myself, or perhaps I'll sell my pin lock kegs and get ball locks.
Other than registering for books or a fridge (Sanyo 49XX, etc.) to convert to a kegerator later, what else could I register for on Amazon? I'm surprised most of the beer vendors aren't listed their products on Amazon...

Aside from the implications of loading up the registry with beer serving equipment...
Why pin-lock? What's the advantage? Otherwise... Maybe a Ranco temp controller for a freezer. Lowes or Home Depot for Cu tubing... Taps & towers for the kegerator. Welding kit...
I'd put that on my registry...

Rad,
I got a great deal on these pin-lock kegs and thought I'd use them. I guess I could go through the trouble of selling them. It seems most people I know use ball lock kegs. I thought there wasn't that much of an issue between them but now that I talk to people, pin-lock seems much less popular.
Good call on the Ranco temp controller.
CU tubing? Do you mean Copper tubing?
Thanks for the tips.

I have close to 20 pin lock kegs and they're great. I always hated the few ball lock kegs I used to have, because I could distinguish between the gas and the beer poppet. With pin locks, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3. Actually just 2,3. Besides, with everyone snatching up ball locks, I had my no trouble finding pin locks.

Charles, that is a sweet idea. I wasn't brewing when we got hitched. But I still got tools, pots and pans, a full set of sharp knives. People think the wedding is all about the woman, but a guy can do well too.
+1 on raw materials and tools. Tubbing for an immersion chiller?
Do you have a mashtun? In not, cooler
Welder or torch
Even a gift card for a mail order co maybe good. You could pop for a lb of hops or something.
It is OK to have a "preferred registry" that you can give to your close friends or those drinking your work. I know a couple of mine asked me-"Hey man seriously- what do you need?"
My best man/friend got us a wine chiller that we aren't using too much right now, but I maybe taking over for groggs.

Great deals on Pin-Locks = very usable kegs.... I will take a pin-lock without second thought...
Don't forget to sign up for the registry on Craig's list

Copper tubing...
When first I got my kegs I bought ball-lock by default. If they had had pin-lock I probably would have gone that route... At least I now know that the main advantage is discerning the in/out connections.
Good luck and congrats on getting married...

if you're piecing it together yourself, charles, skip the co2 tank and just get that from your gas supplier. it comes empty, and most suppliers will just swap out your shiny new tank for an old beat-up one anyway.
i believe you can get taps on amazon, but in general they're not great for brewing equipment. you might be better served to request gift certificates at More Beer or something.

Thanks for all the tips
-Radtek, thanks for the pin-lock vote of confidence. Easy to recognize disconnects, hoy!
-sweetloaf, thanks for the tip on the co2. I've heard this in other places. co2 tanks can cost a ton!
