So while you're enjoying your brew with your buddies what are your feats of strength?

Foosball, darts, pool, air hockey, table shuffleboard?

For me, its DARTS!! And this summer I'm building a table shuffle board table out of old bowling lanes...

Used to be Beirut (basically beer pong but with quarters the way we played it) though I was a decent foosball player in my fraternity, meaning I was much better than most people. Never could do much with darts though.

I love playing darts in my garage. When I'm out I'll play pool if I'm bored, but I love finding a bar that has a shuffleboard table. I was basically raised at a bar around the corner that has one. Picked up some skills over the years...

Wow, building your own shuffleboard table. Sounds pretty intense with all the leveling and sanding involved, but perfect for a summer project. How did you get old bowling lanes? Place nearby close down? Good luck with all that, man.

There's a guy selling plans online for how to go about building them. And yes, a friend of mine's dad grabbed a truck load of lanes a while ago and we're going to build two of them.

Neither of these show "feats of strength", but I have an early 1980's pinball machine that I've kept running and I'm about to add a slot machine.

Poker and board games mostly. We're a sedentary bunch. Most of my energy is spent riding a bike.

"but I have an early 1980's pinball machine that I've kept running"

What game?

Out at the brewery we have a dart board that we are usually playing some form of game on. We also have a game we call 'drunken sailor' which is a hook on the wall and a ring suspended from the ceiling by a string about half way between the hook on the wall and where you are supposed to stand. You let the ring go and hope it hits the ring, other wise it comes back to you. Great game seeing as it leaves another hand easily open for a pint. Its like this: http://www.playringo.com/graphics/ringoMan_animation.gif Boy is that addicting.

We have a doctor friend who has invested in a basement 'musician's studio/karoake' set up, so after a round or two of Texas Hold 'Em (the house always wins), we retire to the lounge and sing like rock stars. Summertime usually brings out the bean bag tournaments in the driveway . . . coming soon!

Yeah, I think I remember Theatre of Magic being a pretty solid pinball game. Bunnies all over? If you press the start button and there's no credits it says "Tickets, please"? I've worked at an arcade down the shore for 8 summers. That voice haunts me to this day...

Ah, drinking games. Used to be so much fun -- nowadays it seems the fun is tempered by knowing I'll be hurting majorly the next day.

Beer pong, quarters, f**k the dealer, beeramid, categories, a$$hole, drinking Jenga!

At bars darts is often the game of choice.

More recently, cornhole (is that the right name??) and ladderball. If we're at my house we might break out the Wii: Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, Wii Sports.

A homebrew club of mine went on a camping trip, and we did indeed have the Beer Olympics -- keg toss, bat-spin relay race, bottle-filling race, carboy relay, and team chugging.

Jeff and Brad are spot on! Cornhole (or Bags, or Sacks, whatever you wanna call it) is the perfect chill drinking game. I just built two boards (1 painted UofM colors, 1 painted MSU colors to appease the housemate) and we basically spend everynight out there drinkin' homebrews and throwing those bags back and forth. Also, real easy to make and relatively cheap (under $50 not incl. paint). www.cornholehowto.com if anyones interested.

At the bar, darts, foosball, pool, or whatever is available to help me forget that I'm drinking beers that are inferior to my own

Scott J, I race bikes myself. Keeps the waistline down from all the home brew! This has been a fun read thus far... Oh, and drunken sailor rocks -- very addicting.

That machine is about 15 years newer than mine, No doubt, it has more bells and whistles.

Sadly, I just read that Gary Stern and Stern electronics is now the only maker of pinball machines. Too bad that this type of amusement could be gone some day.
