Anyone ever hear of this variety? Got a friend who claims to have a mature plant for me...

Blanca? Never heard of.
I've heard of Bianca and Backa, could it be one of these varieties?

Overall, who cares if its free hops

What color are the leaves? If yellow, likely the plant is 'Bianca', sister of 'Sunbeam'.

It's a Brazilian hop with green skin and bright orange hair known for it's electrifying alpha-acids. It was originally discovered and harvested by M. Bison...

Just found out my buddy got it from a buddy that owns a nursery and was selling these things for $65 a pop. I'm thinking it might not be beer worthy!
