I wish they were still distributing in Illinois... It's a good thing I find myself in Wisconsin every so often.

Isn't this a year-round brew?

Not at all. It gets released in the Spring and is usually done before fall. Summer classic here in Michigan. Great with an orange slice added. I just seen a sign posted at a local resturaunt that Oberon is Now Available.

My buddy went to college at Western and when I told him that Oberon was available he decided that we're going out there Friday night. Should be fun. Now to just get this ID thing sorted...

"Isn't this a year-round brew?"
hahahah. It totally is. I've never had a problem finding oberon year round. If anything it is out of stock for less than a month than comes back into season. Now given they do stop brewing it in October and start again in March if I recall.
I do enjoy a good Oberon but can't find myself drinking it like I used to. Drank the hell outta that beer. Talk about an American Hefe. And its bottle conditioned with tons of yeast!

yeah, i always love finding that stray sixer at an out of the way store sometime in mid december. or that shop owner who has a couple cases of last years batch in the back and puts it out about a month before the new ones come out. who's he trying to fool?
on the other hand, my buddy has an unopened mini keg from last year that has been refridgerated the whole time. now that this years is out, we're gonna crack that bad boy. should be really yummy.

Oades has Oberon practically year round. Years back they used to sell the most Oberon in the state of Michigan or somethin and they always have mad cases of it. It's a beer that ages incredibly well because its not an ester based wheat beer it's a malt based wheat. I enjoy it whenever I drink it. In season or out.
