I haven't been able to brew for 5 months. We bought a house in October and have been busy with all the things that can go bad in a house from 1938. This weekend my wife went skiing for a long weekend, and yesterday was a holiday here... so I was finally able to scratch that itch, and boy did that feel good! I brewed a simple belgian (90%pils 7%munich 3%special B, all EKG hops and WY3787). Brew session went perfect! Really, it could not have been better. Hit the numbers exactly on the nose. Just had to say something cause no one around me understands the pent up brewers angst I've been feeling. I hope it won't be too long till I can brew again because I have a long list of recipes I've been dreaming up. I realised though that my setup (or lack there of) in the new house has a long way to go until its as good as the old place. I had to fight the wind, snow, and hail under a tiny awning on a patio thats doesn't drain well.

Thats OK caped, as long as you were happy. We were happy enough with our last class. It went well even though we had a major accident with a tipped over mashtun. If I recall, most places in Europe don't have a garage. But hey, just think, you have a patio and an awning. How many people there don't?
BTW......save a bottle of that and send it over to your dad so I can pick it up. When you coming back this way to have a pint....or two?

TimO, I don't know when. We won't be making our usual summer trip this year so that we can afford a new roof. There is a slight chance that we may make it over for Christmas but it depends on what other costs we come across. If this beer turns out nice (which I think it will) I may be sending some back that way.

MrCoffee and I will reciprocate with a few items if you do. I'll pay the tab. We may be bottling a few things to send out to Oregon so why not Belgium?
Appaerntly you don't have a garage. Care to send pics of your new brewing digs? I remember my covered balcony in Geneva. I could fit my mountain bike and a few cases of beer and two chairs.....and that was about it. At least the awning was retractable.
