...but most recipes call for EKG (which I don't have)
I have tons o' Fuggles, Sterling,Willamette, some Challenger, First Gold, Saaz and Northern Brewer (plus tons of American Hops).
Was thinking of something like this:
British Pale
Crystal
Touch of chocolate (or some of the Richard Gale's/Jim D's caramel)
Somewhere around 1.035, Hopped to around 28IBU's.
S-04 Dry...
Thoughts on the hop or grain bill?
Happy Easter All!

Looks good. I just did an ESB with a touch of flaked and roasted barley, fuggles, northern brewer and a smidge of cascade. It came out wonderful...

I used WY1968 for my special and esb. Not high on SAF04 but have only used it like 2 or 3 times so maybe need to give it another try.
The ESB was pretty simple. Just Maris Otter, Cry10 and 120. 1.064 OG and got down to 1.017. Will be kegging it this week.
I used fuggles and then EKG mixed in later towards the end....it came out great.
I literally still have 3/4# of fuggles and am going to do the same esb recipe with a bit of pale choc added and 1oz of magnum at 60 and then just fuggles the rest of the way...
BTW NB have EKG pellets for 3.99/oz.

I haven't been able to find fuggles or EKG for a long time. I hear the real British EKG may go away altogether soon.

"I hope it's caramel sugar - I am dying to try it!"
Yeah that's what I meant.
I didn't use the Fuggles for late additions as some people think they taste too earthy(dirt)

I ordered the EKGs from Williams just about two weeks ago. By far the best deal on the web for hops that I have seen lately. And the quantity limits are by variety, not by order. I used a bag of the EKGs but can't speak for the quality of the beer yet, since it is still in promary. The pellets smelled and appeared normal; just like any other EKGs I have used.

I open my bag of EKG from willi. last week. Smallest pellets I've ever seen. The beer(ale) smells beautiful. There dry yeast is a good price too.
